what adapter did you use?
some use the 6.0 ford diesel gear reduction starter? again the adapter should dictate what starter
I have no idea who made the adapter, and it's already installed, we are trying a 6.0 Ford though.
Is it a billet adapter or cast?

If it's cast, I wonder if it's a piece from a mid 90's F600, which it appears could be had with a 5.9 Cummins and an AT545. Looks like the starter for that would be a Motorcraft SA993RM. That's from some brief googling and checking rock auto.
I tried a 6.0 starter but that doesn't fit. Will try your option next
6.0 starters are for the billet adapters.

It fits, thanks for the research, truck is running hope to drive it to the Mitty but cutting it close
