So, let's say a guy had 6 freshly remanufactured injectors and lots of time on his hands.
To the best of my knowledge, these are 15 lb, high impedance, but research is in the works.
Microsquirt the motorcycle? Port-injected Bolens lawn tractor? What would YOU do?
I'd build a mister for the deck.
Hmmm... garden hose adapted to a fuel rail with a PWM box.
Although I don't really need it in PA.

use alcohol or propane and spark to melt snow/ice?
or just make a cool art installation? (thinking like fire breathing dragons or similar?)
build a forge for making things from molten metal or a glass blowing setup?

For a pyrotechnics show?
Ohhhh you meant misting water....
Heh there was an art installation at last year's Maker Faire that was a series of moving drag heads with propane powered flame throwers.
It was pretty impressive.
I think I'm leaning toward an engine-type or vehicle-type scenario. Even if it's just finding a free or cheap engine and fabbing up something fun but potentially useful, like find a cheap 6-cylinder something and work up an ITB system and a megasquirt. Maybe a 1500 Goldwing motor? Or a Turboed Yamaha R1 motor with the two extra injectors staged for more fuel under boost? Or convert an old outboard motor to EFI? Then wait for a motorless Miata or a golf cart, or a boat, or a shifter kart. I think at 60 psi I could pretty easily support 200hp with 6 injectors at 15 lbs.
Not sure... but something motorific.
But I do like that dragon idea too.
Hook them up in the tailpipes of your 50 Merc?
If you are anything like me, you come up with this great idea. Get all the parts together to build it. Put them in a box. Put the box on a shelf. Where it sits for the next 10 years.
Don't be like me.
Add them as staged injectors, and run more boost.
Or....
About 18" in from the tailpipe of your car, and then run a running spark plug 12" from the tailpipe. Not exactly legal, but a lot of fun.

I think in this case, this is not a bad recommendation. Put them in a box and forget about them :) Or put them in a box and give them away.
Obviously. One of my supervisors, when I was 18 and working tech support, was super into the competition scene for these things with his modified Chevy Beretta.
I also like the idea of a PI tractor though.
I think I have an opportunity to learn here, and a small opportunity to actually make something useful. I'm an old-school hot rodder, so I can build and modify any carburetor on the planet. I've never built an EFI system, and I'm getting ready to put a heavily modified LS in a 67 LeMans by hacking a factory ECM, so the more I can learn, the better. I've also never done a turbo anything other than bolting on a pre-designed kit.

Agreed. I have plenty of boxes like that from the last 30 years, but I was so grateful for those boxes during my furlough. I was surprised at how much stuff I could make this last two months with just the stuff in those boxes.
I tend to keep useful, universal things. For instance, I have three fuel pumps; a Holley red, a Holley blue, and an aeromotive A1000. If anything I have needs a pump, I'm covered from about 25 hp up to 1200 hp. I have all kinds of junk, but it's stuff that can be used or adapted easily. I figure having 6 injectors in a box is an OK thing.
Turbo the LS and create an awesome anti-lag set up?

That was my thought only I've added a home security element...
Won't the perps be surprised

This did cross my mind. I'm going to have to wait until E85 becomes more available around me. The LS is currently at 11.3:1. My quick formula is: 11.3CR + 93 (R+M/2) + 6psi IMAP = fiery death explosion.. Might have to trade the T56 for a TR6060.
Head swap isn't really in the cards because I spent really good money on CNC porting these. I could get dished pistons but not too keen on tearing it down again.
Now, if I can find some way of controlling boost via a fuel/alcohol sensor that shuts off all but about 1psi of boost when it's on gasoline... then we're talking.
