So I have been watching the asking price on this drop over the past few weeks:

A 1990 Subaru Legacy wagon, running/driving condition. It has been listed (I think) several times, with the price decreased incrementally, to the point that the seller has indicated to me he would barter for something I have been trying to move out of the house anyway.
So the question is -- would you rock this essentially for free? Intended use -- to finally attend a Rallycross, and do so in a vehicle that I don't care about. I have never had a Subaru, and would like to explore the rabbit hole of Fuji Heavy Industries and the Pleiades.
What do I look out for? If you had a little bit of $$$ (challenge budget) to spruce it up for rallycross, what would you do? My cursory GRM search reveals that the EJ22 is pretty dependable, and that the 5 speed box is ok (auto not so much). Seller's pictures reveal a relatively preserved, clean interior. I'm likely on my way to see it and deal tomorrow. Thanks in advance.
