I did my first partial autocross season in a 91 Miata in like 2008.
Now I'm racing a 99. Apparently I'm into white Miatas with dark wheels.
First auto cross was in my Moms 89 MK3 Supra Turbo.
First auto cross in my own car was in my Turbo Loyale
First track day was in my Red NA6 Miata. 200tw tires, a car that doesnt make enought power to hurt its self and a decent suspention setup. Hurt some feelings at Mid Ohio.
First autocross car was a Sunbeam Imp in 1972. First track day / race car was the Healey, first successful race car the Turner 950S.
In 1988 I got to drive my dad’s 86 MR2. That was super fun. First track event wasn’t until I moved to Michigan with my 77 Alfetta GT in 93.
This was my do-it-all 1985 AE86 Toyota Corolla GT-S at trackday sometime in the late-90’s. I autocrossed it, daily drove it, rallycrossed it, drifted it, took it to trackdays, competed in TSD rally with it, went up into the hills with mountain bikes on the roof rack, moved my stuff with it several times...what fun we had together!
My first autocross was in July of 1989 in the Datsun 1200, we still have the car, it went from autocross to SCCA regionals and from 2010 on I've vintage raced it.
My first autox car was a 2001 mitsubishi mirage with 92 hp of pure rage. My instructor was steve hudson and he was live you can floor it now. I told him it was on the floor and the car was just that slow. Great learning tool though.
Jerry said:2006 Scion xB. yes, the boxy one. Looking for photos when I get home.
Caption says July 17 2011, so almost an anniversary. (No, I did not get FTOD)
First autocross was sometime in early 1994, I think. I came across it by accident in a local shopping mall but I knew what it was. IIRC I got FTD, but that's because I showed up with a Miata knife to an autocross cone fight with less than a dozen cars.
I kept autocrossing it for a while.
First track experience was three laps of the Nurburgring in a borrowed Miata in...1998? Maybe. First real track experience was at Pueblo in the above Miata in 2001.
In reply to spacecadet :my first track car was a 1948 straight 8 Buick that was back in 1962
ps I lied and told them I was 16, they took one look at me and knew it but they needed enough cars to put on a decent show so they shrugged and took my $5
My first autocross was 1986. In the Bahama’s my Chief competition was Sir Sterling Moss driving the factory Aston Martin DBR 2
Henry Ford was there with his checkbook to buy the Aston Martin factory. But my little Black Jack beat Sterling Moss in the first event of speed weeks. The autocross was that first event.
Full truth? I finished in second place for the week and yes that was the only race I actually won
First Autox was in a 1984 Pontiac Fiero 2.5L 4 speed
First trackday was in a 1986 Pontiac Fiero 2.8L 4 speed.
First autocross was in 1988 in a 1984 Rabbit Cabriolet. Inside rear wheel in the air.
First track day was in 1990 in a 1978 911SC with aged-out Pirelli P7s in the back. Turn 7 at (the old) Heartland Park it got seriously slideways and scared me all the way to death. Saved it, though.
First wheel-to-wheel race was in a 1972 914 2.0 at Mid-America Motorsports Park in Iowa in 2002. I won my first race in that car later that year at Pueblo Motorsports Park.
First autocross: 85 MR2. Got lost on course and stopped to ask corner station where to go.
First trackday: 89 MR2 Supercharged
First autocross: 1980 Rabbit, circa 1992 (Wait, that car was only 12 years old at the time?)
First track day: 1987 325is (M52B28 swap) circa 200...7?
First one was in 2014 with the Triad Sports Car Club driving a 2004 P71. Second time was this month in a 2008 P71 with a Tach and better tires.
First autocross was in 1969 in a Fiat 124 coupe. Then I prepared a 1966 Honda S600 roadster and in 1971 did my drivers school at Bridgehampton, won my first race and still at in a 1988 RX7 which I built from a bare chassis. Oh yeah, from 1978-5006 I raced an F Production Turner 1500.
First autocross was in May 2017. I took my wife's Elantra GT auto to see if it was something I wanted to prep my e30 for as it was close to being roadworthy. Best decision ever.

First track day was at Hallett last Sunday in my 13 FRS. I'll be back, and now I'm considering doing some road trips to some other tracks next year if I can swing it.

A late 50's Curtis with a cage update and a 160"+ Chevy II injected methanol motor was given to me to drive.
No Power steering, No clutch, No Starter, No Trans, Quick change gears, Knock off wheels. No Wing.
It was a 30 year old USAC/BCRA Miget and not in bad shape, but I did a geographic so I never finished getting it running.
It's last altercation left it with no air filters a crushed header and a bent wheel or 2. It would have been a fine B Main car
