1986 Honda Civic 1500S.  Man it was fun to drive!!!

I autox'ed a lot in my 510 in the midlate 80's. That car was a hoot. Unneeded and un-utilized box flares (205-50-14 iirc) , L18, 44mm mikunis, cam, header, 5speed, maybe 130 hp. Organizers decided it belonged in D street, won, got pushed into C, won again, and got protested into either e or a mod... cuz box flares. I kept on for awhile but got bored with trytrying g to run against cars on slicks that showed up on trailers. Eventually sold it, and didn't autox again til the oughts when I had my GTR swapped awd Protege grocerygetter from hell. That car was a handful in the cones, hysterical good fun trying to keep the turbo on the boil. But shortly after I got back i to it, autox courses around here went from " how quick can you get through these cones" to " how good are you at memorizing this stupid maze we've laid out". When over half the field dnf cuz got lost, it ain't the drivers. But right around then, stage rally took all my money so it didn't much matter...

I did my first autocross in Detroit in 1988 in a rusty 79 RX7; it was also my first on-track car at Waterford Hills  The following year I used a 1984 Tercel.  I got my first trophy in 1992 in Milwaukee in a 1984 RX7 GSL. 

An interesting footnote--in 1990 while still in Ann Arbor, I met a guy named Mark in town.  He noticed I was an autocrosser because of the shoe-polish numbers on my windows.  He was in A2 while doing an internship at GM away from his school at Missouri-Rolla.  He invited me to Waterford to co-drive his red 69 Camaro, which had a modern Corvette engine and a Doug Nash 5-speed as well as current 16" Trans Am BBS style wheels.  His last name was Stielow.  Yes--THAT Mark Stielow.

I was introduced to this sport by Mazdax605, thanks! My 1st autocross in early October 2006 was supposed to be in my 87 RX7, but it overheated on the way there so I used my son's 03 Maxima. The RX7 was purchased to do Time Trials and the AX event was so I could learn about the car. I had bought it 3 weeks earlier with a blown engine and hadn't driven a standard transmission car regularly in twenty years. My first time trial was at the end of October at Lime Rock. We arrived to find a 1/2" of snow on the track. I was too dumb to realize what I was about to get myself into. Newbie driver in a car I had only driven 8-10 times on the street out on a snow covered track, what could be better? I was scared E36M3 less but at the same time it was so much fun. Ended up back at Lime Rock about 6 years later with much better weather and lots of experience and enjoyed it so much more. Ended up doing about 6 AX events in the spring of 07 to learn more about the car and more time trials. Switched to mostly TTs and open track days after that. The original RX7 has since been retired and many of its parts live on in the present car. I've met lots of neat people and had tons of fun,  look forward to meeting more GRM people.

1993 Ford Probe.  My high school graduation present was my dad taking me autocrossing.  Shortly after, he got a miata and we were both autocrossing every month.  I'd love to have another second gen probe GT one day for a track rat.

1979 W116 300SD, still with stock wheels, 600tw tires, stock suspension and most importantly original 1979 DOT3 brake fluid. This was the only race we ran with the wings attached. One guy clipped a brake marker with a wing and we decided to take them off. That was fall 2013. It hella butt blew up 3 years ago and is still being slowly repaired.

My 1st autocross is the car I'm still autocrossing 10 years later. 99 Miata base edition. Started bone stock with cheap all-seasons on it, now slightly modified and no where near competitive in the class I'm running. 

Bought stuff for the car as it came up for a deal. Bilstiens shocks with Eiback Pro-Kit springs, RB Tube front anti-sway bar & mount supports, Corbeau FX1-Pro seats with sliders, Hard Dog M2 roll bar, Cobalt header with full Magnaflow exhaust, HP+ brake pads on the rear, FM compromise 4-wheel alignment, Konig Helium wheels in 15X6.5 running RE71R and the latest addition is a Torsen 4.10 diff. Not a true CSP car but good enough for local events. Was thinking about a good set of coil-overs this winter but I think a clutch needs to come first, starting to slip. Probably go with FM's happy meal combo.
