Keep the Kelmark. Sell the Neon. If you decide you want another in a few years, they will still be gettable.

...slow clap. I'd like to take a moment aside from the debate at hand, to acknowledge this accomplishment. That's an impressive GRM fleet.

I hope that some day there will be a Concours d'LeMons at the Loudon 24 hours Lemons race so I can show off the Xplorer. It gets just as much attention at the gas pump as the Kelmark. Weird, as until you look in one of the windows it just looks like a big old van with a couple extra windows, but people seem to think its cool.

So far it looks like the neon has to go, I am not ready to give up the Kelmark, even though its just a bug chassis under the body.

Thanks for the input. Steve

On a more serious note. I would agree. The Neon should move on to a new home. Let a young kid get some of the fun from it that you did.

WTF is a Kelmark GT?

Researched my own question. Sell the Neon, I'd be bored as berkeley after that many years and miles in the same car no matter what it was.

The Kelmark may only be a body kit, but it looks cooler than a Beetle. I would also say to send off the Neon ACR.

I have all kinds of ideas running through my head, 818, Porsche boxster, old school Mid Engineering, custom built mid engine chassis....the 818 and boxster have the same wheelbase. I really want to sawsall a boxster... In my opinion, could be sentimental, the neon is to nice to cut up. I hate breaking apart stuff that is still good, bet I would have the same issue with a boxster if it was in OK or better condition, so I am keeping an eye out for a wrecked one.

Here are a couple vids of the Kelmark posted by a previous owner, it runs and sounds much better now that it is firing on all 4 cylinders. One of the carbs was hitting the fan shroud and keeping the intake manifold from sitting flat causing a vacuum leak. It still needs to be re-jetted as its a tad fat, and still needs paint, hopefully I can make it happen this summer.

Not sure about the specs he listed, a couple people I talked to stated you cant get 2078cc's with out stroking it. I got no paperwork with the car, seems it got lost after he sold it and it changed hands a 2nd time before getting to me. I did talk to him, he stated there was a lot of documentation on the engine build and its 2078.

On to the neon, its a 98 couple, intense blue, its one of the less desirable ones, loaded to the max with all options available, you know, AC and a Radio. Yellow Konis with mopar high rate springs. I have the original black konis, 3 good, 1 rear has pitted shaft that cause it to leak, I have the original springs also. 3 sets or wheels and tires, steel with winter tires, original acr rims tires pretty worn, set of 15X7 Motegi (I think) with Falkin tire, the ones that won the budget shoot out about 5 years ago with enough life to pass inspection. Cat and mid pipe a year or 2 ago, muffler a year before that. AC compressor and condenser replaced a couple years ago. Body - driver front fender has a couple spots and it would be cheaper to replace than fix, passenger side, could be fixed as of last summer, have not given it a good look since quick touch up over the summer, hood has lip rot underneath, but not through the outer skin yet. worst spot it a hole just in front of the driver rear wheel. Temp patch to pass NH inspection. I hit all the spots with Eastwood rush encapsulator and a top coat, matching paint on the fenders, and spray can bed liner on the rockers to hopefully make it through this winter with out it growing. Couple dents left over from when a tree fell on it, above the drivers door ( where my head was seconds before the tree was there) and on the c piller, there are also 3 or 4 very light hail dents, most dont see it, if you are a car guy you can find them.

Its so hard to part with.... the more I type, even the bad, the more I want to keep it for a future project.
