I like that for track cars, or maybe snow wheels or something. OTOH, it would be kind of fun to rock Hemi Orange or something for awhile. Not exactly Falcon-like though, which is to be subtle...

Javelin wrote: Alright, wheel and brake caliper paint decision time. All paint colors listed are Gloss. The lugnuts and center cap Mazda emblem shall remain chrome. Options: 1. Bronze wheels (ala my old RX-7) with Red calipers 2. Gunmental wheels with Red calipers 3. Gunmetal wheels with Gold calipers (ala STi) 4. Black wheels with a Red pinstripe and Red calipers 5. Black wheels with Gold calipers Feel free to photoshop!
Light Bronze or the gunmetal with black calipers.
For the love of (insert deity of choice here) and small furry animals please don't do black, it's played out and looks crap on just about anything built in the last 40 years.
I am definitely not a fan of black wheels. Hadn't thought about black calipers, might be too subtle for me. I'm hoping the Gunmetal-and-Gold look can be pulled off, actually.
In reply to Javelin: I am seeing those lower side skirts painted black Black chrome paint on the wheels are cool too!
Bruce.
I was thinking regarding your Star Wars Rebel Alliance logos and the mention of bullet holes. Maybe you should get some phaser burn stickers :)
I did my buddy Tom's miata wheels in the gunmetalish duplicolor, just a little darker than the silver paint, and it's actually got a little flake too. Looks really good in that "tone on tone" way. Spring for the etching primer too. Please don't paint the calipers. Pretty please? Tint would be a big help, but $100 worth of tint = E36 M3 tint job.
In reply to poopshovel:
If the calipers get painted, it will be Black or the Dark Gold. I want it subtle, not flashy. The wheels will be painted the correct way (sanded, primed, masked, off the car, etc).
Tint would look nice, but I prefer not to have it.
How about spend the money on a cool wolf graphic for the rear window?

Do that but really really light so it's not noticable unless you look hard

When you paint the rockers or skirts on a car black it is like an optical illusion of a lift kit.
