Just found out that later today we're getting a visit from Kia's PR department.
So, any questions for them or anything?

Do they know Bob Miller? Really, ask. My suspicion is they do.
I suspect he stalks them like the #1 fan-boi of Kia that he is.
how is it that Kia is so thoroughly eating Ford's lunch, that Ford has decided to just "surrender" the car market to them?
how much faster is a Niro over a Prius?
what are Kia's motorsports plans beyond PWC? What have they learned from PWC, that they're feeding back into the Optima road cars?
When is Kia going to have a contingency program for amateur motorsports? And if so, what would their requirements be?
(if they do have one, why is it so hard to find the details of the program?)
How do they see themselves as different than Hyundai in terms of their brand image and their brand goals
When can we get something like the Niro in a Forte5 like package? Basically 1/4th volume reduction to the Niro.
What is their marketing strategy and/or target demographic? To me, they used to be the clear cut value-for-your-dollar but low fun, low key styling, sort of "bland" transportation brand. See pretty much all their products from the '00s through a few years ago. If you bought a Kia, you knew you were getting a great warranty, good features, great reliability, basic transportation on the cheap. It's why we've been driving Sedonas for 11 years now. But cars like the Stinger, K900, Cadenza, etc...seem to be moving away from that model (not that I have a problem with it, I was very impressed with the Stinger at SEMA). The Stinger is clearly aimed at the sports sedan market, the K900 can sticker at an eye watering number. Yet, they still sell the Rio, which seems to be a darling of the cheap rental car fleet. A wide variety of cars is wonderful, but when someone asks me about "Kia" in general, my answer isn't as clear as it once was.
Can they hook a brother up? I mean, I've been lone-wolfing this crap for way too long here. At least a hat or a shirt or something ya know?
Oh, and one more thing...was it just luck that the hamster campaign for the Soul became so well known (like it or not, it's gotten plenty of publicity)? Given that, can we expect to see a trendy aardvark hocking the Stinger?
And Bob, you're not the only one supporting Hyundai/Kia. Maybe not to the extent you do, but I'm a fan. So I'll take whatever marketing SWAG you don't want.
Bob the REAL oil guy. said:Can they hook a brother up? I mean, I've been lone-wolfing this crap for way too long here. At least a hat or a shirt or something ya know?
Quite Honestly...
What steps are you taking to reign in the dealership network which has arguably done the most damage to your brand?
How soon can I expect to see the electric Niro in the US?

- Can you use the power of GRM to line up a KIa vehicle for One Lap of America 2019?
- Will you then need some "experienced One Lap-ers" and GRM'ers to campaign that Kia?
I was going to put a "how many social media impressions / youtube subscribers do I need to have to get a free loaner car to run at OneLap?" question in my original post, and decided against it

This one right here
What percentage of their manufacturing is located in North America? Are they planning to increase that percentage?
I’ve studied a lot of Nissan history in my lifetime. Ive always figured the Koreans would walk in and try to repeat that chapter.
Set up a Dick Roberts and a competition department with a catalog of performance parts. Help the little racers with support. Make an econobox handle well well and become the next 510.
Im probably just delusional.

I have some on-site and mid-event marketing ideas that the 5 car Toyota team failed to easily capitalize on this year.
Would they consider a development department, like STi, Ford Racing or TRD, to develop speed parts for their cars?
Does it even matter that they're essentially absent from amateur motorsport? They made (and continue to make) a lot of cars that should theoretically end up in the hands of enthusiasts on tracks, but with the exception of Bob, basically nothing. They kind of remind me of Mercedes in that respect.
Also, keep doing the plug in hybrid thing. I looooove my volt and my next new car will likely be another plug in hybrid. Give me the Niro drivetrain in something I can autocross and do One Lap in and I'll fall in love.
