I've been out of 1g CRX/3G Civics for way too long. Was at the charity auto auction today, and saw a 3G civic hatch (non-si) automatic in the lot, presumably to be sold at a future auction. I'm betting they won't be able to get it started, so it may not have too many bidders.
It looked like it had solid rockers, floorpan, and panhard mount, but a little rust in the wheel arches. I'd be buying it to do a swap, so I'm not too concerned about the drivetrain. There was a bidder today putting a $400 floor under pretty much everything, presumably a scrapper. Are solid bodies getting hard enough to find, that it might be worth trying to bid it up to $500 or so? Keep in mind I'm in the rust belt, though if these things are going cheaper in the south, I may be interested in a little road trip.
Redpepperracing.com is a good place to start. You should have bought this:

Can't go wrong with scrap price. Then again, with scrap prices so high, $500 isn't bad I suppose. Clownkiller had a nice red on red one he woulda sold you for $200 a couple years ago. I had never seen red interior before.
They are getting harder to find and harder to find parts for. Tried to find a head a couple years ago after crashing valves on my dd. Called all the usual suspects and no one had anything. Had to take it to the machine shop instead.
Thanks for the info. I'd've bought that one a ways back, except at the time I was waist deep in getting my challenge car running
I believe it is for sale again if you're interested. Shoot me a pm.
