I've got a chance to buy a really nice 2000 F-250 at a great price. I am considering flipping it.

Perfect body. Lariat. No rust or accidents. Southern truck. 8' bed. Extended cab. White. 4x4. 7.3L with 166K miles. New Michelins. Interior has been swapped to a King Ranch interior- new carpet with Dynamat under.

What sayeth the hive?  What's a good price on a truck like this?

I would put it up for 15k if its a Limited/Lariat (leather seats) and see from there. Thats what everyone else is doing. Ford-trucks.com forum members would probably buy it.

Agreed asking 15 seems right. 4x4 is a plus, low mileage is great, interior upgrade is good, but the extended cab loses some value.

Yeahhhhhh that's a $20k truck if the paint looks good.*

*note that this isn't a comment on whether or not this is a reasonable price, what's wrong with the world, etc. etc. Just saying what I see most similar trucks advertised for.

It really depends on where you are in the country.  That could be a $20k truck in the salt bels if it's really clean.  The value will go down the further south and west you go but probably no less the $12k anywhere.

As a slightly related reference I sold my rusty '01 with 280k miles on it in New Mexico for $6k and the buyer thought she got a heck of a deal.  She' put another 30k miles on it and still loves it.

Insurance company only gave me $8k for for our Lariat when it was stolen, despite multiple examples showing that it was worth more than that.

Use that for whatever it's worth.

I'd guess $15-20k. At least that's what I see around here (PNW).

That truck is pretty dated now. 6 to 8 seems closer to the mark.

Considering twice the miles and tin worm infested versions are selling for $9500-12k here, I'd say $15-20k in PA wouldn't be out of the question, especially now that summer is winding down.

Some of those bring insane money.  15 years ago I sold one much like you're describing except it was a 95 with 110k for $7100.  That truck today would bring at least $15k.

Truth.  We are talking about a truck that is actually worth about $6k.  It's just that the demand is high and supply is low, so they bring all the boys to the yard.

I agree on the $15-20K up here in PA.  Add something more if it has a manual transmission.  I'd be tempted myself if I had any need for a truck right now and wasn't already buried in vehicles I rarely drive.

2wd, huge price difference for 4x4. I'd say the one Paul mentioned is a $18-20k truck in the mid atlantic.

Plus, long bed 4 door dually.  That thing is a freight train- good long distance cruiser, but really not fun to drive as a daily driver.  They are worth less.
