So FIL has graciously offered me their indoor third garage spot to store ElRabbitto. I'm sure he would let me have it free but that's not cool given they are retired and could use a bit of play money for the usage. What does the hive think a nice fee is?
I had a $25/month number in my head but thought I'd check with the hive?
I rented a 10x20 (which could house a small car) and it was about $120/mo from a storage business with overhead, mortgage, insurance, employees, taxes, etc.
I would take that and cut it in half if it were me... I mean, the guy gave you his daughter. Don't go cheapskate on the guy :)
Cheapest I've seen is $40/mo for outdoor storage. Indoor vehicle was like $70-90.
$40-$50 a month seems legit and seems like an amount that will let them get dinner out 1* per month.
I am housing a co-worker's son's Impala in a detached garage at my shop. He gives me $50/mo

Thanks for the tips guys - Apparently I am a cheapskate. Will work him up a nice fee and flip him a years worth.
I need to get Caddy sold shortly which will help with space constraints. Then hopefully I can snag my unicorn 69 Camaro vert pace-car and use the Caddy spot for it.
$200 for the 5 months ($40 per month) to keep my tiny Miata at a friend indoor and heated to 50 degrees boat storage place.
I think you've got it sorted, but boy is this regional/local-specific.
It costs me $380/mo for a 10x40 I have to drive to the next state to visit (being overly dramatic; it's 15-20 minutes from my house unless traffic gets sideways).
Holy Berkeley am I looking forward to getting that stuff moved out and into the shop.
Man I would love to have a Caddy, but I am a few years out from being able to swing one.

That's a perfect answer, for a family deal, kick back the price of a nice meal at whatever a good place is in the area.
My outdoor trailer parking spot just went up to $50/month in one of those typical fenced storage facilities.
Buy him a really good bottle of bourbon, etc. if you think he'd appreciate something like that.
I pay $230 a month for a 600sq ft indoor unit with electricity and climate control. I currently keep my XJR and 190E in it plus my tools with bench etc. I got in when they were just renovating and their current pricing is $100 more than I pay. But, the manager likes me and likes that I pay ahead of time so she didn't raise mine.

^Second this.
Everyone else listing storage rates are for people trying to make a profit rather than doing someone a favor.
It certainly depends on location...the landlord of the duplex next door to me gets $200/mo for a tiny one car garage (it's small enough that anything bigger than a Miata would be a tight fit), but I'm in the middle of the big city where parking is scarce. However, since this is a family deal Nocone's guess of $45-$50/mo seems reasonable.
