Least: 2003 Saab 9-5 Linear Sedan. $100.
Still VERY salty that the Saab got smooshed by a pine tree in my backyard. It was in great shape and ran and drove wonderfully.
$25.00 running Vega... managed ro put 5000 miles on it before the trailing arm pulled out from the rusty frame..... still managed to drive to junk yard and git $50 for it
$27,000 - 2019 Mazda 3 awd - no drama
In the late '80s I got an early '80s Subaru GL in exchange for about 20 min of work. The local Nissan dealership dealership had put a replacement engine in a Pontiac Fiero and even after messing with it for weeks couldn't get it to run. I negotiated the Subaru for payment before looking at the car. I plugged the scan tool in, looked at the data and saw that the ECT was -30c. Looked at the sensor and saw that they had the fan temp sensor and the ECT for the computer swapped. I swapped the sensors back, plugged in the harness after first straightening the pin that was bent from trying to plug the harness into the wrong sensor and the car fired right up.
My most expensive was my 2015 RAM 3500. I don't recall the exact price but it was market value at the time of purchase.
$600 for my '87 CRX
Around $13k for a new '03 Corolla.
A free '99 Altima that met the criteria, but only just.
Around $1700 for the AE92 Trueno donor
Around $17000 for the 86 (hopefully I'll never top that for an initial purchase price! x_x )
$50 for the Q45 and so far $5000 for my old Audi A6. I am in discussions for one that would be over that. I am a cheap ass.

Hey, I drove an '82 Accord in college–loved the car. I paid $2000 for it.
My first car was a 1961 Pontiac Catalina, I bought it for $70. That was back in 1976, so buying a running and driving car for less than 100 bucks wasn't all that unusual.
Least: 1984 turismo for a whopping $25! Drove it 20 miles to my parents house and sold it for $125 in a few days.
Most: 21 Mustang GT I just bought for north of 50k...
$100 for a 1990 Omni with a leaky head gasket. But was running and driving.
Most expensive car is my current DD 05 solara, five speed, $1500.
Most expensive truck is my 2018 ram 3500, bought new for $32,000 plus tax. Before her, most expensive vehicle ever was $3500 for a 2001 ram 2500.

You got me there. Yes I am very fortunate.
I'm with you; I'm making good money these days and can't (or at least shouldn't) complain.
My innate cheapness still has my shopping for bargains though.
Least: $700 for an e30 with rusted out floors (but drove onto my trailer), and also $700 for a 1987 Porsche 924S that I drove 10 miles home though it was pretty janky. Well, technically $1 for a Triumph GT6 bought from my dad, but I won't count that one.
EDIT: Forgot, I paid $500 for my first car, a 1987 Integra with 130k miles on it, back in 1994 or so. Sold it for $700 5 years later with 280k miles on it :)
Most: $32k give or take for our 2008 4Runner SportEdition (bought new).
I bought an 81 park avenue that I drove for 2 years in college and sold for 1500 for a circle pacific ticket to backpack the South Pacific and south east Asia for sixmonths
I also bought a 1947 Willy's cj2 for 500 that I still play with.
Paid 24.5k for my speed3 brand new in 2007. Paid $100 for a 1995 Ford Taurus as a winter beater right around 2010.
lnlogauge said:Least was a 1988 Mazda 626 f2t turbo for 200. And he delivered it.
E36 M3 I paid $400 for an mx6 turbo and had to go get it myself!
Least: my first car - a '71 Mercury Comet, purchased for the princely sum of $150. In 1987. I drove it for about 6 months until the inspection ran out and it failed due to structural rust.
Most: My only new car: 2003 Jetta Wagon TDI for $21,900 (from the original MSRP of $23K).
Honorable mention: 2007 MINI Cooper Sidewalk convertible that I believe was about $27K, but it was purchased with my ex- so I didn't pay for all of it.
Least: $600 for a 2002 Outback. It was high mileage, rusty, and the seller had started a brake job and got stuck halfway through. I bought the car, finished the brake job in his driveway, and drove it home. I drove it for a few months and sold it for $1500.
Most: $13.5k for a 2008 135i back in 2015. 7 years / 50k miles later I'm looking to sell and it's probably worth just as much if not more. I hate the current car market.
