Most is the 370Z, $36k with a MSRP of $44k. Least is a '67 Jeepster Commando that I traded a Civil War cannon for that I got for free. Next would be an '85 MR2 for $50. I sold it for $200 and had the guy that I sold it to pick it up from my seller. I never touched it.

The most was $8k for an '01 Jetta GLS VR6 (in '02 with 18k miles). I bought it wrecked, fixed it, and sold it for $16k (had almost 12k in it).

The least was $0 for a '79 Volvo 262 Bertone. It belonged to a friend who lost his parking spot, and was left with the option of scrapping it or giving it to me to do something cool with, and he didn't want to see it scrapped.

Close 2nd is $50 for my '79 Rabbit $20XX Challenge car.

Cheapest drivable car with no major issues would be a tie between my first and second car. First was a '68 VW Type 3 Fastback and second was a '64 VW Type 3 Notchback. I gave $400 for each of them.

I bought an 89 Ford Escort for $100, then a week later I bought an even older Escort for $40 in order to take the battery out of it and put it in my "good" Escort. Both cars were thrashed in a field for awhile before being shot and burned and hauled off for scrap.

Paid $21.5k for my '05 Corvette in January of '14

Holy crap! I almost forgot.

I bought a 1971 Volkswagen Dune buggy that had been sitting under a tree for 20 years for $20 (a dollar for every year). It was too far gone for my ability, but an oil change, gas in the tank, and a new negative battery cable and she started up!

I payed a ton for tires (still thinking I'd be able to get on top of this pig) and wanted to go for a drive, but the throttle cable was broken so I set the carb at about 1/3 throttle and drove it up and down the street. Stinking cool.

If I could only go back and do that one again...

Least, $400 for a running 1973 BMW Bavaria, clutch was stuck to the flywheel. Was planned for a parts car, unstuck the clutch and sold it, was driven for another 2 years.

Most, 58K 2010 Mercedes E class

Least is $350 for a 1992 Prelude automatic with a Fast&Furious body kit and a burned up starter. De-riced it, fixed the starter and put a decent set of wheels on it, gave to my daughter to drive. After she gave it back I sold it for $1200, kind of wish I had it back.

Most is the wife's car, 25K for a 2011 Kia Sorrento.

Least is $100 for a 1988 Mercury Tracer with a 1.6 and an automatic, it also featured dents in every single panel (except the passenger rear quarter, but I took care of that in short order). Bought a set of clearance snow tires for it for $100, drove it a whole winter, then sold it in the spring for $200.

Most is my '14 F150, gave a bit over $35K for that one. Fantastic truck though.

Least would be $120 (-$20 I found in change in the back seat) for an 83 Volvo 244 Quite a few $400-$800 MKII GTIs

Most would be the $31K for a new 2002 Toyota Highlander

Least $1.00: 1983 Dodge Aries from my ex girlfriend. Great beater, except that I had to wiggle the engine wire harness to get it to start in the rain.

Most: $9500.00: 1957 MGA. Pretty, but intimidating to drive next to an Escalade.

My first car was a 1966 VW Bus (Splitty) that I paid $25 for. Running. Rust free.

Oh dear Lord, I wish I had that car now.

My first 30 cars were all air cooled VW's. The MOST I ever paid for one was $125.
