What’s your favorite car from the year you were born?

I have three from 1971:

 Maserati Bora

Lotus Elan Sprint DHC

Plymouth Hemi 'cuda

1978 wasn't a great year for cars. The muscle cars had been replaced with "personal luxury coupes", which generally translated as heavier, uglier, and less powerful shadows of their former selves. Emissions controls and crash standards hit imported sports cars even harder; these cars had less power and less weight to begin with. The '80s would bring in cars with crash standards designed in from the get-go, and fuel injected engines that could hit emissions targets without compromising performance, but those were still on the drawing board in 1978.

With a few notable exceptions.

So I'm going to go with the BMW 633csi.

Second choice, and one that was introduced that year, would be a Mazda RX-7. The Supra was also introduced that year, but it would be another generation before it found its stride.

1987. So GNX for me.

I bit of an obvious one for me:

1966 had too much awesome, so I'm going with:

Yeah, there are a few advantages to being older than dirt

I was sad about 1986, until I checked the Wikipedia page and learned that much cooler stuff than the Taurus debuted then. It's a tough choice between the E30 M3 and the Porsche 959 for me.

1952 Thunderbird

1967 was more fun than I thought.

1990 was a good year.

The NSX and Civic Si are both favorites.

Not a great year for cars, at least in the looks department, but you could do a lot worse than this in 62

1967 Gurney Eagle- No one specified you had to be able to afford it...

If I had to pick just one it would probably be a 1965 maserati Tipo 151

But, the Jag E type

The Porsche 911

any of the Lamborghinis from that year

or (because I'm really a Mopar guy at heart) a Hemi Coronet

would be welcome in my fleet.

I want to say Series 1 RX-7, because of all of the first generation RX-7s I have had, my favorite is still the S1.  We were both introduced to the world in March of 1978.

Buuuuuut.

weird toss up: Ferrari 288 GTO or AE86 Corolla

One's a dream car but perfect in only certain settings, the other is fine almost everywhere else.

     Technically the XK120 was introduce at the Christmas auto show in London.  1948. 

Being old is kind of cheating.....
