So with the G35's factory alloys wearing winter tires, I realised that I needed a set of summer wheels. Well, when these OEM 03-04 18x8" +30 coupe wheels came up for sale at a price of 200 Can-eh-dian dollars, I figured I should snap them up. After a couple coats of satin metallic bronze to cover up the horrible flat black rattle can job, I rolled the fenders using Clint (an Eastwood roller) and threw the wheels on the car to see how they sat.

I'm pretty happy! Next step, new tires.

But in the meantime, I approve !

I've always wanted her to say that, but alas.
In reply to FuzzWuzzy :
Paint, actually. The previous owner of the wheels did a horrible black rattle can job, so I sanded with 600, wiped down with prepsol and laid four coats on each wheel. There are some noticeable runs due to the cans being cold, but overall it's a lot better than the stock silver 17s.

I wondered if that was Duplicolor Bronze wheel paint; used the same for basically the same reason on my car. Pretty happy with the results although it seemed to peel pretty easily when the paint was pretty new. May be better now with age / cure time. One fell on its face when I was swapping them back onto the car post-painting and an area the size of my thumb nail peeled off. Used black primer which has held up and makes that one mistake less obvious.
Serious question. Why did you roll the fenders for OEM wheels?

Ahh, I'm glad you asked! Sedans are 2.5 inches narrower than coupes and have stock wheel specs of 17x7" +45. These coupe wheels are 18x8" +30 and would have had horrible rubbing issues had I decided to not roll the rear fenders.

Finally cleaned it, and woah! Also, note to self: don't use cheap newsprint to mask off tires, it has a tendency to bleed through.

I think some of the Infinity OEM wheels are forged
Wheels look great! Next time don't mask.. Use 3x5 cards.

I know we've discussed the topic of which paint for wheels before, but I painted some white steelies black using appliance epoxy. No chips or loss of paint in three years of use. Prep well, sand, clean and degrease, but don't use primer first.
BTW, those look fantastic!

Oh wow! I would have never guessed that.
Car looks great.
