Maybe you guys have seen this, but I came across it today. Caution: not for the faint of heart. This video is tough to watch.

This is why it absolutely horrifies me when people don't wear seat belts, citing, "It's better to be thrown from the wreck." Yeah, right.
I always remember a 1963 - 64 Mercury hopping the rail at Daytona back when NASCAR was actually stock cars. Right up in the air at a 45 and down into nowhere with only a lap belt.
Big nads.
Dan
It has been seen. Amazing, frightening, kinda grim.
But we won't hold it against you.

I seem to remember that. Not sure who the driver was.
Cal Yarboriugh comes to mind. Don't know if he ever drove a Mercury though.
What amazes me is that any of the survived.
That video has been around a bit now, but I still love it. Great footage with a great song. It made me like AA Bondy even more, though I'm not sure how much he had to do with it.
i'm with darkbuddha the footage is great and the song is nice and smooth...
footage around 1:08 or so... isn't that the same track james may did his slot car thing at?
amazing to think of driving when YOU where the roll bar...
the Late David E Davis mentioned rolling his MG TD (or was that a TF) where he lost his nose and got quite a few skull fractures when he rolled the car and skidded across the track.. with his head trapped between the car and the track.. and no, he was not wearing a helmet
