I'm not sure, but I suppose there are worse things to hoard. Like Equinoxes.
Love it! I'm shopping W123 and W124's right now. Seems like those are at the bottom of the depreciation curve and you can find some real clean ones for great prices.

Absolutely! I was lucky and scored this W210 (technically the wagons are S210, so if anyone wins trivia night because of this factoid, you owe me a beer) for ~2500 before taxes. I've done a lot of work on it, but that's mostly down to my OCD liking things to be in proper working order with known good parts that I installed. And when you see what these are going for on BaT, well, then you start feeling great about your score.
Also, my W126 is currently for sale on eBay. It was time.

I went from having 3 or 4 Mercedes at 1 time to having 0. Those 4 years without Mercedes always felt wrong. Now that I have one again, I'm shopping for more. W108, fintail, and 126. Preferably all 3. Wish me luck!
My coupe is still for sale
Is this where we all start posting pics of our Mercedes? Because I LOVE doing that lol
I have had several, I want a W140 at some point but I have probably had enough of them other than that. They aren't really that complicated or scary to work on though, but parts are not as easy to find for some of the older ones (like the W126) anymore.

Parts haven't been bad to find for mine, but who knows if the same could be said of the gassers.

A lot of parts for the diesels are NLA now, but mostly easy to find used. The stuff I had trouble finding was good used interior parts and a lot of the front suspension stuff that wasn't cheap junk. Unless they have made more since I checked you can't get the locknuts for the guide rod mounts anymore, which is kinda a problem because the aftermarket ones don't work. I'm too tall for a w126 though so I sold mine.
You really need a fintail.
I used to a have a fintail.
I want another fintail.
Where do you even find those anymore?
In reply to Tk8398 :
Ah, the guide rods, the one part I forgot about when I was ordering front suspension stuff. I find most of what I need either on FCP or Rockauto, surprisingly. And I too don't go for the subpar stuff.
100% agree on the interior bits. People on eBay must just sit there and wait for people to need something and then decide to list it for 300% more than it's worth.

GRM Showroom where Tim has his, though I think it's actually a W111 and not a Heckflosse. Anyway it's blue over red and even though I can't remember if it's a w108/111 it's beautiful.
I am a member of the club. Shopped around and did a lot of research and this is what I settled on. Really like this car way more than I should.

I always come across them. I miss mine
Where? I never see anything but later models around here. It's like they all rotted away.
