I recently acquired a pair of grey leather Recaro-style seats (very good condition) and I'm curious where they might have come from. Evidence on the seats themselves show:
- Date of July 19,2000
- Audi-emblem seat belt receptacles
- The Mercedes Benz name appears on the outside of the plastic shell (underneath) as well as
- what appears to be a MB part number A170 912 00 22 and
- the name Keiper Recaro
As stated, they're in good shape and may well be destined for my '86 E30. I'm just wondering where the origin might be. Any clues?
Thanks.
Keiper Recaro is the company who owns Recaro. I think the mercedes r170 is the slk so the seats came out of a mercedes slk. Recaro actually is the OEM for some car makers and others make lookalike seats.
If the seats are nice and fit, who cares what name they say. People get caught up in branding, just be concerned with quality.
We need more pictures though.

I agree about the name, but I was just curious. They LOOKED right. They are actually really well made and in good condition. I may have to fiddle with the tracks to get them in the E30.
I'll try to get some if someone can post them for me...
