I am thinking of a radical build taking a front wheel drive car and converting to rear or awd. Which would generate the need to lengthen and widen the body and chassis. With all the work would it still be a saab ?

i know a guy who has an 88 dodge daytona. its rear wheel drive with a small block chevy now. we still call it a daytona
I've seen quite a few rwd berettas and Cavaliers at the drag strip.
When the VIN changes or the insurance company will no longer insure it as what it was.
I don't see why it matters unless there's a rule book involved.
When it has a full tube-frame chassis and generic-shaped fiberglass body that relies on decals to clue you in to the original model.
