So in other words you want to take this.
And this:
And put them together and go 200 MPH.
I don't see any problem with this plan.

OP didn't say anything about budget, "cheap" is relative.
I'm just here to feed the demons.

$100k is WAY out of my price range! 1/10 of that is my target. That's why I asked on the Grassroots Motorsports board and not the Trustfund Motorsports board
Or this: VW adapter.
This is a fun idea for sure but a very difficult and expensive way to get to 200mph on Bonneville. A V8 belly pan racer or a lightly modded literbike will do it easier and cheaper.

For good traction surface maybe but not on salt.
For your budget I would buy something that can do 200 on asphalt have fun and sell it for 10 grand less once you get it out of your system.
Officer pulls you over.
(officer) - License and registration (you) - Officer why is your car on fire?

Saw this and that inspired my last hot link.
@ the OP promise me that if you do this you put afterburners on it just because this is SOOOOOOOO cool!!!!!

I know that guy. Bought close to 100 a/f meters from him.

It's hard to do 200, but there are a lot of budget guys who do it.
If you are really interested in doing 200mph, I'd go to Bonneville. See how others are doing it.
It would not be super duper hard to run "the answer" and do 200- Get an M1, full belly pan, no w/s, full tonneu cover (metal), NHRA cage (this is the real expense), big BP boost kit (and plan on air to water IC- with cooler in the passenger seat for ice, narrow tires running "front runner" (aka- front drag tires).
If you can make the cage, and change the rear end to take 500hp, well....
For V8's- I wonder why some messed up 'vette 'verts are not out in Modified Sport class- it would be a good car.
Long ago a service guy came by in his old Dodge minivan...in back he had a jet engine off of a helicopter! It sounded way cool !
