I need to install some parts for one of my customers. It'll be paid work. If I'm installing them for my own car, I take the risk and just order some random item from RockAuto. However, I don't want to have to go back and re-do the work again for a failed part, so I NEED a quality part. This will be the first time I've ever needed to order something from Toyota. It needs to be a Denso part ( # 16670-21010 for those who are curious )
Anyway, who do you guys use mail order OEM Toyota Parts?
We use TW Toyota in whitestown for the shop. Mail order I have no idea. By the time you add shipping it's almost as much as buying it local. When I ran the Acura online store, sure the prices looked great, by the time you pay tax and shipping it's within a dollar or two of local pick up prices. (I used to price match all the time and it was usually less than if I just gave them my "good customer" discount).
I also usually walk in to nearby Toyota dealerships, but you can order online through many of them as well, look up the ones closest to you.
I mail order my OEM Toyota parts from Olathe. I've always been completely pleased with the transactions.

I've ordered from Toyota parts deal and I've ordered from my local dealership with similar moderate success.
I order from Conicelli Toyota in PA, I've been using them for 20+ years now. Good pricing, quick shipping, great customer service. Their website is: http://www.partznet.com/
I just ordered a set of mudflaps for our Rav4 yesterday, and they arrived this afternoon (I'm only two states away from them in CT.) If they have it in stock, it seems to ship very quickly.
I love my local Honda parts department (Danbury Honda), but hate the Toyota dealership parts department because their pricing is insane. As a result I buy a lot of Honda parts locally, but almost always go online for Toyota parts. My most extreme example was that it was $300 cheaper to purchase an OEM hitch online and have it shipped to my house than it would have been to buy it at my local Toyota dealership. I offered them the opportunity to price match (including shipping cost) but they declined. That's certainly their choice, but it didn't make me a happy customer.

I google the part number and choose which dealer has the best price. Depending on the part there can be a surprising variance.
Annoyingly, my local dealers for Toyota and Lexus in Austin don't have a part number search on their websites, just a request form and I've never had a response.
Thanks for the responses guys. I went ahead and ordered it from the site Cousin Eddie recommended.
Good idea, when it comes to OEM parts, I go to the dealer. You pay a premium for a sure.

Second vote for conicelli - live 15 minutes firm the place, and use walk up or internet, depending on urgency / laziness factor. Either way, prices are about the same, and competitive vs other online toyo dealers. They've got 1-2 guys pulling parts for mechs and walk ups, but a half dozen employees pulling parts for online sales.

McGeorge seems to be pretty good, I also order from Toyota Parts Deal. All OEM parts, much cheaper than my local dealer.

I also use Conicelli / partznet and have been for 20 years. Never had a bad experience with them.

Noted and book marked for future reference. I'll give them a try if Cousin Eddie's suggestion goes south. As I said, I ordered yesterday afternoon. Let's see how fast I receive it.
Not sure on OEM parts for a Toyota, but when I want OEM stuff I just go to the dealer.
I'll give employee pricing to any GRMer* who swings by and says hi. Next time y'all are in southern UT...
*except AngryC. I've abused him enough over the years that I'll break a rule or two and give him an even better deal. As penance.
If I'm buying multiple parts (like everything for a brake, suspension, or cylinder head job) I will go to the local dealer where I know enthusiasts working in the parts department. If I need one seal, or a few fasteners, I'll order online from Toyota Parts Deal.
The differences between how dealers run their parts department is nuts.
At the Subaru dealership, I get things below list price.
At one of the local Toyota dealerships, they charge list price *plus* a having to talk to you fee, a walk back to the shelf and get it fee, a fee fi fo fum and a "what are you going to do about it" fee.
In reply to Brett_Murphy (Agent of Chaos) :
Ahhh the good ole matrix pricing model... complete bullE36 M3. It's completely based on the fallacy theory that high volume parts are sold for less than cost and "never sellers" will be above a 1.5 times list price or more... of course this is based on another fallacy that you are keeping inventory in check by using logic that doesn't make sense.

Thank you for the recommendations! All of these were good -- Joseph Airport Toyota was cheapest this round.
