Pretty much his dream car at a low price.

That would be me...
But at this time, i'd have to make the decision as to whether or not i would sell my current Celica to get this one, and fortunately/unfortunately, the answer is "no."
Being that i just dropped almost $1000 to replace stolen parts off the Challenge car, spending $3500 on another car isn't in the cards right now.
whoooo boy...looking at celicas:

2 80s celicas for $600 with title. 80s japanese cars are some of my favorites. You could get a boosted 2jz in there with decent suspension and rolling stock for well under 2 grand!

I really like how mildly retarded the one with the winking light looks.
I've always wondered how well one of the 4th gen STs would fair in autox situations.
I share your lust of 80s japanese boxes. I want an 88-89 Celica GTS pretty badly.
Hrmmm....
Has my chariot arrived?

UGH! 4cf, what have you done to me?

You're supposed to be telling me to get a Miata.

I have a conundrum with the 1st gens.
I like the way the earlier ones look better, but the later ones, like the 77 have longer engine bays, so it's easier to fit something stupid in there. Like... a 1jz.
I'm not a fan of the fastbacks. Notches only, please.
I used to have a '77 hatch. Loved that car but it severely needed more power. I always wanted to drop a 289 in it by the 'rents would not hear of such things as my 124 Spt Cpe was a constant project. Damn if those old celicas didn't love to rust though. That hatch lip was cancer central...
I hate you guys... i've been trying to move away from Toyotas for whatever reason, and now i've come up with the two Celicas above, and now this:

I've sent him an email. If he comes back and tells me that it IS manual, and that it's not rusted to death, (looks pretty damn clean in the pictures) i'm all over this like white on rice.
89 Camry = hilarious AutoX car. I would have prefered a V6/5spd model, but that's made of unobtanium.
ARRRRRRRGGGGGGGGG

Now i know why i haven't been on craigslist much lately.
There's quite a few REALLY cheap decent looking 5-speed FWD corollas/Prizms. They're light... could be fun.

They are kinda fun, 43 mpg on the highway is nice. You really need to get a Miata though.

Yeah... i really do. But the allure of a cheap, different ST/STS car is hard to resist sometimes. The competitive side of me has a hard time enjoying racing my current cars sometimes, since they weren't built with a class in mind.
