The cheap metal on the seat recline shaft has broken at the handle end and part of it is still in the handle. If I can remove it without it disintegrating, which JB Weld (or similar product) works best for the application? Leaving it in the handle and attempting a bond is also a consideration, if the solution can be as permanent as re-attaching a rearview mirror.

I'd like to avoid using a pair of vice grips as an interior accoutrement.

there are a few different kinds of epoxies/mixable compounds. JB Weld has a few, but you also have splashzone (a 2 part epoxy designed around under water uses) as well as many others....
