There's some jimmies getting rustled in the nc Fb page. One guy says this stuff. https://products.techtirerepairs.com/product/oval-insert-bx-40/?fbclid=IwAR375L5Y9NnAzAbIkUq_fZkcm5hfMQcJ5-naEwnhoP8K5VYDYZwe0bEPmMU

whats the hives mind on this? My Mazda oem slime is past due.

I already have AAA, so don't quote me about that. Where I live there are a numerous locations with no cell signal, so AAA wouldn't do anything at that point.

Does your car have TPMS that uses sensors inside the tire? Because the green stuff will literally dissolve those and you'll have to replace them as well.

Yes it does. A 2009. Didn't even think about that. What's the options then?

If they say TPMS safe, then you might be okay. OEM is probably the safest bet (they aren't going to make something that kills their own sensors) but its probably going to be more expensive, I would imagine.

I've had a bunch of instances of customers going "My tire light came on in the dash" and you try to relearn the sensor, won't relearn and you sell them a sensor. Then you pop the tire off and it's all full of green goo and the casing on the TPM is literally dissolved with the circuit board hanging out of it.

Ha! That would suck. I wish I could get the Mazda goop, but they only sell it in the kit, which I already have. Plus that kit is around $300 from the manufacturer! I wonder if I could pillage it from a JY Mazda? Think the formula is the same from 2009ish? All the newer cars have tpms too so I would imagine so.

Ont thought about sourcing something from a junkyard.  Our 2013 CMax has goo and a pump.  There is an expiration date on the goo.  The car has a timer and tells you to replace the goo after several years.  Fortunately the goo is available online for a reasonable cost.  I have no idea how much to worry about it being out of date, but it seems unlikely Ford would put that effort into it if it wasn't at least somewhat real.

Yeah, that's how I know mine is outdated, by several years. The bottle expires in 2011.

I get that no one does spare tires anymore but I'd be more likely to abuse the AAA and get a tow than inject that crap in my tire.  Its a last ditch effort and should come with the expectation that tire and sensors need to be replaced.   Drove home 20 miles the other day stopping every 5 to air up just to avoid pumping the goo into my tires.

Hey, if that works it's a great idea. So what do you do when you don't have cell signal and the tire is worse than "every 5mi"?
