I had a 1965 T Bird. Great car. Would love to get it back.
Ford power puff blue with a pearlescent white interior. Loved the 390. Truck torque. Never passed a gas station either.
Never had an 87 I don't think, bit I have had an 88 jeep Cherokee, 89 325ix, 90 750il (and mustang 5.0, and s10), 91 240sx, 92 vw fox, 93 325i, among many other cars and years.
I guess an 87 or 94 should be on my shortlist.
I wanted a '67 a few years ago just for this reason. I now own two 1967 Volvo 122 Coupes and a '67 122 wagon. I've actually semi-considered building my collection around 10 year increments. I already have a 1977 Bronco and a 1987 Shelby Charger. If I got a 1997 it would be an M3 sedan. Not sure about what 2007 model yet.
'66 caprice 396/4sp '66 corvair 110/PG '66 corvair mid-engine 327/4sp '66 cutlass ragtop 383SBC/T350
I had an 80 z28 and a 80 base model camaro. Want an 80 trans am, not much else from 1980 I'd own besides a chevy or gmc truck.
I've had cars just a year either side of my birth-year, but never one from it. At this point the only ones I'd really be interested in are way to exotic(and appreciating) to ever be within my budget.
Not a lot of cars built in 46, however I did own a 49 Ford. We had a 28 Ford Model A used on the farm. That was the first car I wrenched on and drove when I was 12 or 13.
My first car was from my birth year, a brown 84 Chevy panel van. But for some reason 78 is the year cars keep finding me; mgb spitfire TR7 XS400 and rabbit.

For a short while I owned a 77 Fiat, an 87 Saab, and a 97 Volvo.. I did not plan it
Had a 61 triumph TR3, but it was more lawn art than car. Missed the boat on a Porsche 356 when they were cheap
87 mustang hatch. even turbo swapped it (2.3t). then proceded to launch it on slicks with no subframe connectors. t top cars bend easy. its a pop can somewere now.
