The only car I've had that was the same year as me was actually just a parts car.

I've aged a lot better than it had.

Use to drive two cars from 75 on a regular basis. The first was a 75 FSP Scirocco I would co-drive on occasions. It looked like the car below except in red. It was a lot of fun to throw around.

The Second was my good friend's from HS 75 Firebird formula. Definitely not as nice as this one but it looked the same. I had no desire to own either though.

Almost. I have owned a 1979 Triumph Spitfire and a 1979 Honda CX500, which is one year off.

Owned a 76 Toyota pickup for a little while.

It was an ugly Mint Green, but the 22R block with a 20R head was a great powerplant for that little truck.

My E30 325iS was a 87 model year, but had 10/86 production date. Which, now that I think about it, is within a month of my production date, despite being an '87 model.

So, I'm going to go with "Yes, affirmative".

I had a 1964 Impala SS back in high school……..loved rowing thru those 4 gears. Now have my Grandfathers 1964 C10, that he bought a month after I was born and died a year later.

I had a 1976 911 Targa for about a year. Definitely should have held on to it longer. My crystal ball sucks by the way.

It's funny you should post this, I troll Craigslist looking for cars of my birth year...I am holding out hope that one day I will find the well preserved E21 323i of my dreams...

I now own a 95 E320, just one year younger than me. I love the quality of Benzes from this era (older ones, not 96 and on), but OBD1 is a new challenge to me.

Nothing really "good" from my birth year of 1980. I suppose a Firebird or Camaro with a better motor might be "okay". I wouldn't mind a Porsche either but I'm not holding my breath for that.

The most likely car I would own is probably a 1980 VW Caddy in Mountain Green or a 1980 Scirocco.

In the meantime I'll call my 1984 GTI "close enough".

So you were one of those "born again" people. Twice over?

I had a 67 Alfa GT Jr, but that got redundant when I picked up another GTV.

Had some serious want for a Giula SZ of my wife's vintage, but never did it.

For my 40th birthday I bought a 72 MG Midget roller. Based on the VIN code it is actually a 74, the year I was born.

My 1959 Sunbeam Alpine, running a Tiger drive train. The car was a "bitsa" that someone had pieced together using a 260, and added a 4 barrel holly. The side pipes were not much more than burned out glass packs.

I worked at the Highlands Inn, just south of Carmel. When I left work at mid-night I was told that they could here me until I pasted Point Lobos.

When I sold the car I saved the stock 2 barrel carburetor air cleaner. No, it's not for sale.
