Saw this along US15 between Frederick and Thurmont, MD. There have been some posts about J10's recently so I stopped and took some pictures.
Looks to be in fairly decent condition. I could see where there had been some rust repair on the flares on the driver side. The blue repaint is flaking off in a few spots but that looks like poor paint prep rather than rust.
Don't know anything about it and it appears that the owner does not live where it was parked.

With that cab, it is not a '79 Grille and cab don't match.
I noticed that too. What year did they smooth out the roof edge? A (casual) internet search hasn't turned up the info.
Who doesn't want a J10?

In either '81 or '82........'80 model year still has that cab visor.
The grill appears to be a mid 70's unit.
I would be interested, but id rather build up the one I found versus buying one supposedly done
Just last night I found one of these on my "local" CL. (I watch 3 different CLs in my area, not sure if it's the Jacksonville, Fl. one or not.) Anyway, that one was one of the HONCHO model J10s...same shade of blue paint but with a second color "wrapping" around the middle, sort of a yellow/gold color. Strangely(?) that one also had about 90,000 advertised miles on it, but the price was a tiny bit MORE than twice what this guy is asking. And that one had the "traditional" Jeep grille.
The cab and grille were changed when AMC tookover from Kaiser-Willys. as I recall. When was that ?

Any grille fits any J10, from beginning to end. Add the grille and headlamps of your choice, then add or subtract the hood spreader as required.

J10's should only exist in one color......yellow
