Seriously, who could he be looking for to buy this? It's already returned to earth. At this point it just needs to be turned into a really cool flower bed

In reply to yupididit :
I've seen worse brought back. Even if the floor is gone you could build a dedicated tube frame and drop that over the top for bodywork. Miata suspension front and rear, LS.....
In reply to mblommel :
Miata floor too.
Heck, just buy a miata-kart for $500 and drape the body panels over... simple!
Maybe $300 for good glass and frame, good bumper. Most importantly, does it have a title for a VIN-ectomy?
Not for $300. I couldn't find the picture of a Triumph over a door (there is one) but you get the idea.
But, but, but... it's a southern car!
Actually, it's a miracle. Up to the floor pan in sand and it hasn't completely gone yet!
Were I looking to build a Challenge car out of a Spitfire, I could see that as a reasonable starting point.
True. But aircraft restorations of this magnitude are terribly unforgiving of shadetree mechanics. If the Wildcat can be pulled off the slit under Lake Michigan after 50+ years and be made airworthy, the $300 Spitfire is peanuts in comparison. Let us not forget, there is always hope.
If you cut off the windshield and removed the hood that might make a neat planter/raised garden bed.

True, but the big difference is it's not very hard at all to find a Spitfire car in running, driving condition. A WW2 carrier aircraft - not so much.
Cut it off where it sits, sell the hood and windshield to recoup some dough and use it for a race car bed
There's $300 in parts there. There's more value if it has a VIN and title. I'm $200 in so far toward getting a title for one of the Torinos I just bought. Probably another $200 to go.
