Neat truck. Seems like something a GRM minded individual would build.

Seems like a hell of a nice usable (sleeper) truck for the money.

Subtle if you don't know what to look for. He has a few 'tells', but I completely agree with the sleeper comment.

Someone should get in touch with him and see if he will add some detail to this thread.

It certainly has a few tells, I just love that it's the Bravada to begin with vs. a Blazer.

Start with the most plush version, and retain Oldsmobile oddity appeal.

You could easily make it more sleepy, but I think the forced Vette wheel mashup makes it a more intriguing head scratcher.

why did he have to put the Buick turbo 6 license plate on it?

IIRC, That's the origin of the original turbo'ed 231 cu. in. V6 engine. I think he could have also affixed a GTA Trans-am insignia too.

the Syclone/Typhoon had a turbo'ed version of the Chevy 4.3 V6, which is a totally different animal than the Buick 231- literally nothing interchanges between the engine families, and they don't even have the same bellhousing bolt patterns..

hence my question about why putting the Buick V6 turbo emblem on the front license plate makes any sense..

What was stuffed in the Trans-am GTA of about the same year? Seems it was also a turbo'd six, yes? Just noticed your avatar. Preach it sister!

the 1989 20th anniversary Trans AM GTA had an engine very similar to the 87 Grand National- turbo/intercooled 231 Buick V6 with DIS and sequential MPFI.. but it had slightly better heads than the GN- off the current year fwd 3.8- and a few other changes to make it fit in the F body

I'm guessing he used that plate because everyone would think "Turbo V6" first and which V6 later.

Bravada for the AWD instead of 4wd.

Allegedly the bravada setup was the closest to the syty setup anyways. Pretty sure that an upgraded bravada driveline was underpinning the stealth sonoma that lingenfelter built awhile back as well.

the AWD transfer case in the Syclone/Typhoon was raided from the AWD Astro van parts bin, and later used in the Bravada..
