HMMMM Saab! turbo's take two and add them to the V12 engine 500 horsepower or close enough that it doesn't matter (only works on the early engines though)

I've already got a pair of T3s, what is an early one? Never mind, I already know to much for my own good.

+1. There are only so many hours in a day to search craigslist for these things. On top of refreshing the topics here.....

I'm interested in the 6-cylinder XJS just like I saw on the Top Gear India Special.

Well I'm already long gone on this subject. I have been looking on Craigslist for days in search of the perfect xjs. Think I found a winner. Then, tranny swap to manual and a diet for the car... me too actually.

Didn't GRM or CM feature a couple of Jaguars a few years back. I think one is a 2 door XJ6 and the other is a XJS both with manual trans.

One the guys in the local British car club had one and used it as a daily for a number of years until one of the engine seals decided to start dumping oil all over the front brakes.

I would guess he removes the a/c stuff and simplifies the accessories. That would make the most sense.

Got it. I've been wondering, what do you do about the powersteering? If there is a relatively good manual box that is useable that would be nice.

From what I've heard the V12 is a very good engine. They are almost like two inline 6's bolted together. If one bank fails they are so smooth you can't tell there is a problem and you keep driving and ruin the engine. Of course if your Jag suddenly has half power pull over asap to repair the inexpensive problem and you won't destroy your engine. Early automatic transmissions were set for "Jag comfort" which couldn't handle the power and frequently had to be rebuilt or replaced. Rebuilding it with stock GM transmission parts or a shift kit will make it reliable. The V12 should be able to run for over 300,000 miles if properly maintained. (see mguar's comments)

Thats pretty normal for low volume quality headers. Arent good small block Chevy headers even $500+?

Haven't you been paying attention. Junkyard twin turbo set up makes headers unnecessary.

That's two grand in pounds. (Somebody get Ranger some cough syrup.)

I was just looking at the headers not the full system. I use the quick and dirty 1.5 times the pound value to make USD. I could get a chassis shop to build headers for LESS. They begin at 1k for a pretty standard SBC/BBC/SBF/BBF deal.
