With a life long preference of RWD, if they would have made it on a (to me) proper chassis, I'd have owned one. 
It definitely has the lines of a station wagon (Estate, across the pond)

apparently, it shares a platform with the Taurus  (Sedan) and the "new" explorer (definitely NOT a station wagon)

My first hand me down car when I was 16 was a 1958 9 passenger Mercury wagon.......how was that smart, to give a 16 y/o a passion wagon? I also figured out that if I backed up a little and slammed it into gear while flooring it, it would peel out pretty well! 

I still own wagons.....but these won't lay rubber....with AWD they just go......
