When I got the Saab, the fuel pump worked, but the fuel gauge did not. The level sensor is built into the pump assembly, so I swapped it for a new one. There were many Chinese-made options for about $100 available, so I tried one. No dice, it didn't work. So I tried a second one. Nope, that one didn't work either. So I spent $450 on a Delphi unit from the local auto parts store; this was supposed to be a quality unit. It lasted about a year and a half before crapping out. UGH. It has a lifetime warranty, so I swapped it for a new Delphi assembly and went to work dropping the tank AGAIN. This time, the pump works, but not the fuel level. DAMMIT ALL TO HECK!!  Yes, I can get another replacement and will test it before doing anything, but I don't want to have to waste another 3/4 of a day laying under a Saab and swearing.

I buy all my fuel pumps from this company.

Only ever had 1 go bad and it wasn't the pumps fault.  They replaced it for free.

I've had about 9 of their pumps in various racecars and dds.

We sell DW pumps, very few returns. Good suggestion.

Is it possible there's something else stressing the pump in the Saab? A clogged feed line? Debris in the tank?

I wouldn't be surprised if the Delphi pump was made in the PRC ...

I recall hearing GM is notorious for sizing their fuel pump wiring just right for perfect circumstances.  As it gets corroded, flexes, etc., resistance gets high enough to cause the pump to work harder.  The replacement pumps get the blame for being crap, when the wiring is the issue.  I'm not 100% sure this is true, but I will admit to re-running it with a thicker gauge wire in my S10, just in case.

High pressure fuel pump in my '23 Equinox just crapped the bed at 21,000 miles. Everything is junk now.

Thanks for that, while they don't have a direct replacement, they might be able to supply a pump for a rebuild.
