Ran into this last night trying to buy a couple replacement tires.
Amazon.com link I bought some tires from Amazon a couple of years ago with no problem but now there is a shipping restriction to Arizona, Arkansas, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia.
TireRack.com seems to be able to ship to me without any problems (I haven't actually placed an order though), any ideas why Amazon can't? More curious than anything else at this point, I try to take advantage of my Prime free shipping and Amazon's typically competitive prices when I can.

probably has something to do with that brand in those states.....such as exclusivity clauses or something.
Its like my company is a Snap On dealer, but we cannot sell out of our "zone" snap on sets and we cannot sell to locations that the snap on trucks service.....
From Amazon.com:
Because of regulatory requirements and restrictions, we are not able to ship tires to Arizona, Arkansas, Ohio, Pennsylvania or West Virginia. If the item you are looking at cannot be shipped to one of these states, you will see the following message in the item detail page, below the item price: "Special Shipping Notice: This item cannot be shipped to the following states: Arizona, Arkansas, Ohio, Pennsylvania, or West Virginia."

Why does it say cannot ship to OR or WA???
this was the answer:
Old school sales territorial wars with Les Schwab Tire.
And I thought unions and exclusive sales territories were done with the turn of the centry....
would go along with

odd thing - not all the tires say all those states. i looked up 2 goodyear wranglers and one said no ohio and the other did not.
i bought a motorcycle tire from them last year.
and it appears only the tires sold by amazon themselves have that limitation.

If my thought process is correct, there will be different states with different brands....
