Mazda unveiled the MX-5 Z-sport, and yeah in typical Miata fashion, it's just a recolor and some badges. But wow, is it pretty. It's the Sport Nav trim in Machine Grey Metallic with Sand interior and a dark red top (I'd prefer that the interior were the same color as the top). And it's limited to 300 produced, all only available in the UK. Here's hoping the red top becomes a regular option, or the US gets it on some special edition.
I have enjoyed driving this car immensely on GT sport. I podium every race.

Forgive my ignorance, but if that car is a UK trim only, why is the steering wheel on the correct side of the car?
Edit: Plates look German. And, yes, it is a good looking car.
Those are newer style UK plates, not German ones.
And yes, I rather like it.

It looks very classy. I wonder if those will be like '93 Miata LEs 30 years down the road, where people nearly murder each other for the red top when one gets parted out.
The UK has always had more special editions of the Miata than the rest of the world. It's a thing there. I have a collection of some of the mid-90s brochures, just SE after SE after SE. And they were all just color packages.
Can't say that the red top, grey paint and tan interior push my personal buttons much though. I like a little more cohesiveness myself. But I expect that it would sell like crazy as an SE.
In reply to Keith Tanner :
And the funny thing is that at least when I was living over there, the MX-5 community would go nuts for the JDM special editions. Not that they didn't like the UK ones, but there seemed to be some kind of "UK SE fatigue", at least in the used market.

Agreed.
As I said, I like the red top and gray paint. The tan interior I wish was either gray or matching red. I think one of the best color combos for a Miata is still the NC in Galaxy Gray with the terra cotta top and interior.

It's always about what you can't get, isn't it? I'm expecting a BRG edition in the US sometime very soon. Again, not my thing but it'll sell like crazy if they use one with a bit of metal in the paint. Something like the Exige "Lotus Racing Green". And I'm all about Miatas selling like crazy, regardless of color.

Velocity red is the best color they ever sprayed on a Miata at the factory.
Laguna blue. You mean laguna blue.

No, you mean Mariner Blue. Mariner Blue is the best.
You guys meant laser blue.
Umm, I think you guys meant to say Garnet Red Mica with the tan top and interior is the best color ever sprayed on a Miata.

Starlight Blue Mica off the '96 M Edition is also an acceptable answer. Blue is the color that Miatas are supposed to be.
The main issue I have with the ND is the poor choice of colour. The red is nice, but all too common, and the Arctic white is good, but the rest are too dull. A BRG would be welcome, and a couple of more brighter choices would help, too.
It got the new version of Soul Red this year - it’s spectacular. But I’ve been harassing Mazda for better colors since the car came out. I want to see Lexus Ultrasonic Blue on one.
The color of the top clashes with the interior. Like the colors but not together.
