So i have a somewhat odd situation:

I go through a lot of cars. I buy, flip, and part several cars a year. Im determined that i need to slow down on the number and branch out in the style. Here's the current fleet: 1993 Dodge Dynasty 3.3L/4spd auto. < Every day kinda beater, tow with it fairly often, but not much more than 3k lbs. It has a bunch of stuff done to it, and im keeping it and doing more. 1990 Dodge Caravan. Long story but its on its first motor swap, hope to be on its second this year, and will become another tow vehicle, slightly better than dynasty but still not over 4klbs.
1989 Dodge Spirit turbo, intercooled, motor swapped, tranny swapped, etc. Im still getting this thing sorted out. I want to use it as a tuning testbed and get the highway mileage as close to 40mpg as possible. I wont sell it until ive had my fun but I may try to trade it away in a year or so. Basically just an everyday commuter that will run 14s and get nearly 40 hwy mpg is the goal. 1984 Chrysler Executive Sedan (factory stretch new yorker). This thing is super rare and funky, and ive got big plans for it, and probably wont let go of it for at least 5 years, or if i like it too much, never. I plan to put a hitch on it as well. 1980 Plymouth Arrow truck. This thing has awesome late 70s style and will hopefully be my first joint car project with my fiancee. Also dont plan to let this one go. Sure, its a truck but its flimsy and tiny so utility factor is small. 1989 Dodge Aries. all sorts of swapped, basically my car for racing. Still got years of enjoyment left to wring out of it as it sits.

From here on out i want to get into some different stuff on top of what im doing, and turbo-diesels and 4WD's are high on the list. I dont mind the idea of combining a large, 4wd, turbo-diesel vehicle with the ability to tow, but i also like to do oddball vehicles so a plain pickup is too boring for me.

So all that is the question.

And i think this is the answer: http://newjersey.craigslist.org/cto/1580317249.html

You could probably make a few bucks on the side lifting E36 M3 for people or whatever, with the crane truck. If you were so inclined.

There's a local dealer that had a couple 4x4 Mitsus sitting on a lot for a few years. They look awesome but I can't help wonder if I'd really want to get one in a situation where you'd need the 4x4 capability. Couple that with having to live with it the rest of the time on the road. I've never driven a Mitsu but have driven a turbo Hino, UD, and Isuzu and the Hino was the most fun.

I put a sealed bid on a sweet old firetruck once. Missed out by a few hundred dollars.

Tell me why that engine that gets allegedly 22mpg in that monster isn't in a ford ranger (or mighty max -whatever they're calling them now). Grr.

If your local laws allow you to park a 'commercial' vehicle in your driveway, go for it.

Yeh, i actually jumped off from there and looked around for a while to find this one.

I literally REFUSE to live anywhere where that would be an issue. I keep all my cars and tools on my parents' property out in the country, and i rent a home on a 29 acre plot out in the country. If anyone else can SEE my cars at all, im too close to them. And if someone gets close enough to complain they better be wearing brown shorts and bringing me a box full of goodies

I like the old firetruck idea.. I'll look around. Some of those things look pretty capable.

Oh and you know what i need to go with this truck??

One of these: http://dieselmotorcycles.com/vehicle-m1030-m2.php

I want that so much for some strange reason. I think if i had it i would stupidly try to find out how far i could get with it.
