I want a 4 door car the size of a Cruze/Focus, that is rwd with a turbocharged 4cly in the 250-300hp range and a 6 speed manual gear box for around 25k dollars.
Seems like the first company to make something like this would have a real winner on their hands, I realize some older BMWs etc may come close this but they are older now and new stuff is much larger and obviously more expensive.
Once you ask for RWD you're restricting yourself to sports cars (almost always 2-door) and the German "sports-luxury" cars (expensive).
People who specifically want RWD usually don't want the length, weight, and chassis flexibility that comes with more than 2 doors.
People who specifically want 4 doors almost never care about performance at all and would be upset at a big trans/driveshaft tunnel.
That's why it doesn't exist.
Maybe an off lease ATS in a couple years? Starts at $33K.
is there a way to disable the front axle of a nissan juke?
Slightly used Infinity G37? It's a six and not a turbo four, but the horsepower is in or at the top of your range.
Because the people who work for car companies listen to people like GameboyRMH
If you build it they will come. Don't talk about it, be about it

I can tell you in one word why BMW won't do it.......Mini

A 2/3 scale Charger SRT would be awesome
Hyundai Genesis Coupe 2.0T comes with a 274 hp turbo four and a 6-speed for supposedly right at $25k. They make a Sedan version of the Genesis, but the sedan doesn't get the turbo four or the manual. You can't win.
Some of the new 3 and 5 series BMWs have turbocharged 4 cylinder engines, although I don't know the horsepower rating offhand.
Speaking of the Genesis coupe, I had one for a rental car last week and was pretty impressed with it even though it was an automatic.

I would be happy with the Corolla, Mazda 2, Ford Fiesta, or really any other economy car made RWD. It doesn't need a turbo engine. Just good MPG and utility. The aftermarket will handle the rest.

I don't know about your $25,000 price point, but the rest of the description sound like a BMW One series hatchback. I don't think we get the hatch in North America though.
BRZ, it's N/A with only 200 hp, RWD, about the size of a focus (externally) and 25k. A car most consider a bargain. Simple math says they won't be adding 50 hp and a turbo for free. Nissan IDX might tick a few of those boxes. Right now they seem to be targeting smaller engines but if it gets the turbo 1.6... It's primary competition would be the BRZ so I expect the price point to be similar.

I would love a BRZ but really need 4 doors for family duties. WRX ticks all the boxes in AWD form...
RX8 ticks all boxes, just not sure about everyday livability
Aren't you describing a WRX with no front drive shafts?

Mustang? Ignoring the turbo I4 requrement- fits the bill pretty well. Or if you wait, there's may be an I4 in the future.
But the other answer- no money in that kind car. Especially at $25k.
I had the same question (at a slightly lower price point and therefore higher age) and decided a used BMW was the only way to fly.
Still love this car more than any other I've ever owned.
Because if it was actually made, no one would buy it because "it's too expensive/I don't want to take the depreciation/etc."
I think the main killer here for car companies is the increased assembly/build cost of RWD weighed against the size of the market for it in a 4dr platform. I'm not saying the big three can't build a RWD 4dr for $25k, I'm just saying they won't take the thin profit margin it would entail.

I don't know about that, a 25k rwd sedan with 250hp and three pedals would sell like hot cakes.
BMW 335i 3 door manual sell for about $20K used
Save yourself $15k and buy a lower mileage Mazdaspeed6.
It was rated at 274HP, its a sleeper and a magazine test had a 5.4 sec 0-60.
Turbo, 6-speed and the AWD is really good in crappy weather.
Back on topic, I think it would be hard to hit the under $25k price target. My guess is that it would end up just over $30 to start and close to $40k when you add in LSD and nifty technology options.
Hell I don't even need 250hp. I would be in love with the wife's Elantra if it was rwd.
