Plusses, it's a subie and alot of the more important and expensive work has been done i.e. timing belt and A/C. Minuses, it's not the wagon (wagons are kewl).
Ask to see paperwork proving the timing belt was done or knock money off. If the head gaskets and water pump weren't done at the same time, you'll need to get those done soon.
Head gaskets? It's a 2.2 for cryin' out loud. The head gasket issues didn't start until after the 2.2 era.
I agree, the only minus is that it's not a wagon.
Plusses - add an intercooler and boost the crap out of it. That is a 2.2L closed deck motor. Lots of WRX guys want them. They add the 2.2L block with a 2.5L crank and you get a 2.35L.
Minuses - edit - it mentioned clutch, so it must be a 5 speed (Ad didn't say what tranny it has. Lots of them have 4eat autotragics and they chew em up.) Check 2nd gear for grind.
I don't know many people who replace the hood and fender when they get keyed.... Not that it's a major point, but....
93celicaGT2, everything you said just makes it an even WORSE idea to rally the thing..
Sure, you can bolt and unbolt lots of stuff.. like fenders, bumper covers, etc.. but itll never be right again.. rare cars arent lost to survivable accidents.. they're lost to the ones they DONT survive.
