I have never seen a black widow.
the caprice wagon i brought up from virginia a few weeks ago.... other than being rusty for a southern car. i opened the passenger door to start pulling parts off it, turned my head, and there was a black widow a few inches from my face in it's web.

I have a garage gym and when my training partner saw the giant spider pic I took (this thing had his legs partially wrapped around a 2" barbell) he said "I'll burn down your whole Berking backyard before I train there again!
This coming from a 6'-3" 300+ lb powerlifter.
Sorry, this post got off track!

This. I've seen winter weather in about a dozen countries and three continents and Ohio is the only place I've ever seen where the DOT tries to match every inch of snow with two inches of salt. Makes no sense. And yeah, this stuff kills trees near the roads, but also fish for miles and miles. I assume someone with political connections must make a nickel off every ton of salt or something.
Reminds me of the UK. They don't get snow very often (although that has been changing over the last few years) and it's always chaos in the South (where I lived) if it snows, so they try to salt the roads at the first hint of snow.
The best one was when they salted the roads outside my house when it was snowing 100 miles away. I double checked the temperature because I couldn't believe what I'd just seen - it was +8 C outside at that point...
