So due to life, it looks like the Starlet challenge car is being pushed back to next year. That means that we are bringing a Lexus LS400 instead! I am trying to see if there are any really wide 15" tires (like old countach wide) that don't cost $250 a piece. I am 95% sure the answer is no but I need to ask anyway. THanks

Try these, specs say 12 inch section width 295/50 R 15
How about a Hoosier dirt oval track tires in 305/60-15 size? Listed at $162 each here:
Tires
295/50 and 305/60 will be TALL!
295/50 isn't really that tall. They're around 26-26.5" i thought. They fit easily under the rear of G-bodies.
It's about the same as a 205/70-215/70. 295 times .5 is a 147.5mm sidewall height, divided by .7 is 210mm...

As wide as you could ever need.
295/50R15 is 26.6" tall. A 305/60 is pretty tall at 29.4"
Hmm, relevant to my interests
275/35 15 hoosiers. I run them on 9" wheels, the top CSP guys are running 11" wide wheels now.
You can get a set to take offs for $300.
Good stuff gang. I will have to check all those links in the morning.
Kyallroad - where would I find such a beast?

Is where I got mine.
And while there are larger/wider tires out there in the world, I honestly can't imagine a Starlet needing more rubber on the road for autocross.
In reply to KyAllroad:
Thanks!
These are for an LS400. The Starlet isn't getting to the '16 challenge.
Maxxis makes a pretty good 245 45 15.
Make sure the 15 wheels fit over the rear calipers...
I have a set of 15" barrels for two piece wheels that interfere with the the rear calipers from an SC300.
In reply to stafford1500:
The stockers on a 92 are 15". If this ends up happening (I am friggin broke and my team makes are cheap), we will have crazy backspacing.
My wheel may be a little deeper in the center of the barrel than the stock wheels. It only interferes by about 1/8" so my fitment is the likely issue. Also crazy deep offset to make the 9.5" wide wheels look right on the outside face.
