18 mi all surface streets get a 2nd gen prius(45mpg), sure its boring as E36 M3, actually E36 M3 is less boring but my MIL has one and it really has been bulletproof since new, just oil and tires. It is the epitome of a fire and forget car.

As much as I would like a new NC and we all know the awnser is Miata, she does not like going anywhere in my NA, sure it's slammed and we look up to just about any car on the road....

Yeah she likes the TSX and the Jetta TDI seem to fit the bill, what about the VW CC anybody?
Does the 4 banger on the TSX use a belt or chain do drive the cams? Chains last longer than belts, aslo is it an interferace motor?
My sister-in-law has a fairly new Sonata, and I would in no way declare it reliable. Most of it has been fixed under warranty, but it lives with the check engine light on. I think they have a ways to go yet to match Toyota or Honda.
Before we got her a new car, my wife had a 4cyl Camry. It easily got 30mpg and was decent driving, just not very exciting. It had leather, all options, the works. She drove it daily for about 15 years with pretty much zero issues other than maintenance and one radiator. It really was a great car for someone that isn't concerned with driving a non-appliance.

It's a Honda K24, so I assume it uses a belt and is an interference engine.
My wife has a 2010 Sonata Limited V6 (fully loaded with everything except GPS and the kitchen sink) and we haven't had any problems with it. Other than the dealer can't seem to get paperwork right. 1st the sold us the car with the wrong paperwork (VIN didn't match the car we had). They paid my next years registration, tax fee and a free service to get us to redo the paperwork. That was on the old form and wanted us to redo to the new form so another free service and a tank of gas. We just had to redo again and this time we're getting a $100 gift card. Owned the car for 15 months and haven't had to pay for service yet.
You're kitchen is big enough to need a car? We are looking at the Fusion or Malibu hybrid when the time comes to put the wife in a new car

All Honda K series motors use timing chains and yes, I believe they are interference.
