So the Scirocco's windshield wipers don't work. Is there a good way to test relays? Will Rainx work well enough for autocrossing if it rains? And if it won't is there a way to bypass the relay? No one has any in town that I can find.

There aren't any cross-referenced relays you could use? I gotta think at least four or five other cars used the same relay

The relay is a Siemens relay 321955531A.

Look it up on rockauto, click on the part number for interchange, and make up a list for the junkyard, grab a few, one is bound to work. It appears delay is part of the relay, so best you can hotwire is full speed.

Relays are easy to check. All you need is couple jumper wires and a 12V test light or VOM.

and no ... RainX isn't good enough for a-x .. it helps but won't get the job done on it's own

Just go to any junkyard with VW or Audi products and look for the relay with 19 on the top. You can also replace it with a 99 or 197 relay, and those have a programmable delay. If you end up needing a wiper motor I have one from the same car that your back seat came out of!
