LOVE THAT SONG!! Too bad he died so young (plane crash) - he could have been one of the all time greats.
Sorry to hear about your pink car, JD. I would recommend NOT changing the tranny fluid (inside joke).

LOW BLOW!
Actually a trans service and synthetic fluid is the first thing its getting. Bought it with "no 3rd gear" but it drove home just fine despite having no fluid on the dipstick. The underside is COATED with burnt ATF......are there such things as Transmission Bolt Gnomes?

If it's any consolation, it was only down two qts. I tightened them all and now it seems fine. RTV on the oil drain seems to be holding...for now... just like it seemed to the first time. Hope that seal gets here fast. Then I can deal with the exhaust leak, the blown heater core and a few other things.

ALWAYS pet the sweaty things!
Let me guess - the lovely shade of 'old band-aid?' That's worse than the split-pea green they did in the late '70s!
Solution: rattlecan.

Highly unlikely, since I can never pass up a great deal. But I could certainly do without the ice storm that was also going on
What are we talking here...............Pepto Bismol pink.....or more like a faded red to light pinkish hue kinda pink? Maybe a former Mary Kay car? And of course being a manly kind of man, if anyone calls your car pink you just reply.........."That's not pink, that's salmon".
Not Pepto pink-I've had several faded red Miatas and can recognize that color in almost zero light. It looks maroon except in direct sunlight or under the fluorescents. Then it takes on a rosy pinkish tint. Mary Kay car is a possibility. I'll have to take pictures once the ice melts.

Since the transmission supposedly holds only 3.5 qts, 2 qts low could not be good.
