So I got asked to work their event at the IMS this past weekend. It was long days, hot weather, lots of sun (on this poor poor ginger). But it was worth it. If you get the chance, do it. These guys are fun, organized and know what they're doing. I thoroughly enjoyed instructing, seeing all those people grinning from ear to ear and occasionally getting to take them out and scare the poo out of them. AWESOME time!
I snapped this with the phone Sunday morning:
Which ones did you get to drive?
All 3 F430's and hte LP550-2. The Lambo was a nightmare to get into/out of/sitin for someone my size (6'). But it was worth the struggle.
Looks like more than just a 430.. That's a Scud!

I think just the one was a scudaria......
Paul's right. One Scud, one normal 430 Coupe and a 430 Spider.
In all seriousness, it was a ton of work. It was hot, 11-12 hour days and lots and lots of face time with people. It was really awesome seeing hte size of people's smiles when they came back.
I finally got a squeal on my last pro-drive in the LP-550. She had driven it already, but came back through to take a pro-ride. I got to be the lucky one.
I was wondering why Perry wasn't at the autocross this weekend.

Hew made the joke at 6:50 am "Yeah, I got an auto-x to get to back home so I'll be leaving a little early to make it....." He was greeted with silence and me chuckling a little. It was too early.
I instructed one up in Boston. Was a fun experience, and driving the scud was sweet
Here's the only picture I took all weekend, haha.
Funny... but my favorite car of the weekend was the 430 spider. the Scud was stupid fast, but the nanny aids were just so intrusive they made smooth driving at 8/10's darn near impossible. The Spider allowed a lot more slipping and sliding to get the car positioned that was much easier for me to drive smoothly and 8/10's. THe LP550, yeah I couldn't drive that one very often because I'd be thrown out.
The one thing that I noticed... they all sounded like poo at idle. The V10's were throaty at full wail and were ok, but those Ferrari V8's were something to listen to. Add in the reverb of the speedway and it was nothing short of amazing.
A funny side note... the majority of the group working this weekend were us crazy Indy Region SCCA people's. Sunday morning when the cars were still in the garage, they also had a FF Cobra in for some video/phot ops. We were all ignoring the prancing horse and snorting bull for the FF Cobra. There wasn't a single one of us that wouldn't have given up the pay to take 3 laps in that thing.
