I just watched the World Challenge event from Long Beach this afternoon. Did anybody catch why they weren't running the Touring Car class?
Was nice to see Pobst doing well (didn't look like he had any issue the whole race!), and boy are the Cadillacs looking good!
Well done to Jack Baldwin. It's about time that old coot came out of retirement! And it doesn't hurt that he's driving one of the prettiest cars in the field.
I also noticed the lack of TC cars...There was plenty of action without them, IMHO.

I'm thinking someone with a brain figured that Long Beach was too short a course to safely host all three classes.
An interview with a TC competitor also indicated the class will return as a separate event at Miller. The kicker is that B-Spec will be incorporated on the grid.
Not sure how I feel about that as there are good and bad things abount the B-Spec concept.
Yeah, after the race at St. Petersberg, which was basically all yellow flags, it's probably not a bad idea to keep the TC cars out for the street courses. I don't know if there were other factors, but this race at Long Beach was WAY cleaner. I don't remember any full-course yellows.

I did catch that the TC cars would be back at Miller. I have to say it's cool to see fields with so many different cars, so I'm glad that the TC class isn't gone for good.
