World Racing League Equivalency Rules (Video)

Anyone here done anything with World Racing League? Seems like a neat new series.

I've worked a few of the events that they have had in Texas.

It's that middle ground between the pure chump cars and the SCCA IMHO. There are a lot better quality car than the average chump race. Most of the front runners at the races I've worked have been Spec Boxster cars. There is also a good mix of older Spec Miata, SCCA Improved touring cars, and on the lower end some more chump like rides.

Overall the racing was pretty clean and there was a very low tolerance for any metal to metal contact. The track does get busy though as there are a heck of a lot of cars out there with varied degrees of competitiveness.

I think if I was going to do any endurance racing like this, I would definitely choose this series.

Check out AER as well... http://www.americanenduranceracing.com/

They are good guys and it's been picking up a lot of momentum this side of the Mississippi. Skeen, Clay and a number of other pros turn up frequently. Driving is clean - rubbin' of any kind is discouraged. It is "run what you brung" so the car can literally be anything as long as it's safe and well executed. Tires and fuel economy are used as the limiting factor.

The E30 in my avatar is being repurposed with a less fast, less thirsty motor over the winter to run the full season for 2016.

Just for clarification, The WRL is run what you brung as well. You just happen to see a lot of bleed over those different series.

We like WRL. Simple rules (powah-to-weight based classing), contact is discouraged. We've run 3 races at High Plains Raceway with them. All have been very well run events. Great fun.
