The roll bar looks almost useful...

If that thing had a little bed and a bench seat, it would be a cool Cushmen type cart for a big compound/complex.

Just think: -"I need that part in this warehouse, now!"
-"Sure, I'll use my cushman that can go 120mph!"

well.. on the good side.. it doesn't look like a decent E30 died to build it

Why would you go to that much effort and keep the semi-trailing arm setup out back?

And have the engine hanging that far out front. . .

I agree.. the M42 from the 318is would have been better.

Does it endo during panic stops? If so, then it's officially the "best use of an E30".

With a "roll bar" like that, I wouldn't try it

doh! just realized.. with the E30 being a "front steer" rack and having the oilpan behind the crossmember.. moving the crossmember and suspension to the front of the "cart" would have been easy peasy

That was my first thought. If you gonna build the chassis . . . move the rack forward. Even though the M20 is front sump, that still doesn't make a difference on a "custom" chassis . . .

But you are right a M42 would have been awesome for something like that. I still would like to turbo one for build . . .

What is that, 1" tube? The front upper suspension mounts look a little underspecced, putting it mildly. One solid bump and the frame's out of true.

I suspect it will fold in half right at the shifter long before any big bumps.

i really think you're all being way too critical. if this is used for anything more than donuts in the parking lot i'd be suprised. it looks like someone had an e30 they couldn't do anything with, a bunch of square tubing (for strength!) a welder and some yellow spraypaint. probably involved lots of beer, too

Come on, you guys regularly get your rocks off over far more dangerous /stupid / pointless things. This may have many issues, but it's not a bad basis of a fun toy with some extra tubes and a simple body on top. My first thought was this.

Yes, more structure is needed, but remember how simple some ladder frame cars are. I think it has potential, but he does seem to have added an extra zero by mistake

As much as this contraption has so many worried, I'd pee my pants if my wife had this wrapped up for my birthday.
