75k miles, all put back to stock except for the wheels.
Sure it was stock? I don't think I've ever seen a WRX or STi that was stock for more than three months.
My mother drives a WRX wagon. WRC blue, five speed. It is completely stock as the day they bought it new off the showroom floor. There are probably similar cars bought by similar people out there.
Nice score! I have the same wheels on my 2009.
Thanks! I've really been enjoying driving it. As soon as my Miata sells I am on the lookout for a turbo back exhaust, catless uppipe, and Tactrix cable.
Are there decent gains to be had by tuning it before removing the cats? If so I might just go ahead and order a cable now.
A stage 1 flash smoothes everything out and increases the boost a little. You'll feel it for sure. Get a cable.
Alright, I'll order one right away. Thanks for your input in the previous thread by the way, it's very helpful.

Its a very usefull tool in diagnosing issues and checking CELs. You can datalog and flash.

Programs to download:
Romraider (make sure you get the newest definition)

Learning View (check for new def.)

ECUFlash

Mine was bone stock. Until 2 days ago. Vishnu 3" turboback now installed. SPT suspension coming soon.
I just downloaded ECUFlash, are the RomRaider and Learning View programs necessary? It looks like they don't have any versions for Mac which my laptop is. I may get an old laptop off craigslist to run Linux on to use for tuning.
Yeah, the other cool thing about the Tactrix/free software setup is that you can pretty much tell the computer what Check Engine Lights to monitor. For example, on my old car, I had no cats, and the rear 02 sensor would throw a CEL if I didn't go in there and suggest that the computer ignore it. WAY easier and much more reliable than those stupid resistor things.
Yeah, you will need all of those tuning programs if you want to tweak your maps and data log. ECU Flash will do just what it says: it flashes the ECU. You need the other stuff to do everything else.
Another fun thing with the tuning programs is that you can pretty much record data for just about every single electronic device in the car, from the heater switches to the IAC. You can also trigger data logging trough a dash switch. I used the rear defrost button.
looks good. Mine is more corolla like

Evan, good find! Believe it or not, I'm pretty sure I know that car - used to play tennis at the same place in North Little Rock that guy did, would see it all the time. I'm pretty sure it's stock, and not hooned too much. Does he now have an STi in black?
I've got a 2005 Saabaru - currently bone stock (have a LeMons car and a Street Mod VW to play with). i'd like to hear more about the Tacxtrix cables - are the maps out there on the internet reliable? i'd like to gradually build a STX car, starting with the tune. I don't mine paying for a map, just don't want to blow anything up.

Reference that thread. I guess I'm in the market now.
My wife just said.. "Admit it, You're excited for the hunt..."
She's right.

Yep, he just bought the STI last week. He was going to trade this car in but wanted to get more than the trade offer so I got a good deal on it.
can you put a baby seat in the back of a wagon and still have leg room to drive. I am kinda tall 6'1" and my wife is tall, we are not giant but room is key.

Never tried a baby seat, but full size adults have sat in the back with no problem, with my seat in it's normal position.
Nice wagon.
I have an MGB GT, a 300 D benz and a ramcharger. I made the comment the other day that there are modern cars that outhandle the GT, get better mileage and ride as good or better than the Benz, and have more effective AWD systems than a manual transfer case between two Danas. This was the car I was thinking about.
In reply to ignorant:
I would think that a rear facing car seat would not really fit, but once you switch to a forward facing one no problem.
My wife and I put the seat for our first son in the middle of the back seat and that worked fine, when the second one came we had to get a bigger car, I am only 5'9" and could not drive the car. This was in a 99 SAAB 9-3 by the way.
Iggy, you know "seeing if the seat will fit" is a good excuse to hunt one down and go for a test drive right?

We had the same issue with our '00 Saab 9-3. For a decent-sized car (2 adults in back had plenty of room), it was a disaster for rear-facing car seats. I had to move the driver's seat up one click to be able to clear the seat, and I'm only 5'10".

She is ummm.... "excited" about the car hunt.
I live for it. I don't want to spend money, but looks like I'm going to have to spend it. On the upside, I did need something that could fit the baby in a pinch. The baby is about ready to have her seat turned around, however, I'm hoping that this car will last me through the birth of the next kid(2ish years off). So It would need to have the room for a front facing seat and a rear facing seat in the same car. It would be a rare occurance that this actually happens, but It potentially could happen.
btw.... This hotel I am in is a hole... I had to travel for work after getting rear ended last night.
Edit: Non turbo, I think, but what do you think of this.. http://worcester.craigslist.org/cto/1647931522.html

Better mpg with a turbo and a tune.
