Almost original owner, had it since '77. Runs good. His wife wants it gone, since he's driven it 500 miles in the last 15 years. Apparently it's been sitting for 2 years, but it will start and run as soon as he gets a carburetor gasket replaced. I have a sinking feeling that he won't want to sell it for what it's worth, though.

Forgot to mention, it's a California Jeep, garaged most of its life, so no rust anywhere. Can confirm...just a little surface rust on the floorboards.

18,000 mile '72 CJ-5 was just posted on Craigslist this week for $2500, sounds very similar to what you've got there.

4 or 6 cylinder?
Either way, not running $2500 seems a little off. Running, and truly rust free, that's a $5,000 Jeep all day long. If it were a CJ 6,7, or 8 it'd be worth lots more.

I believe it's the 4. 76,000 miles. I think I've decided it's a project I'm not ready to undertake right now anyway, but it was a cool find.
