I had a dream last night about sticking a ford 1.0 ecoboost into a 70's coupe and doing the old stock car look with big steelies and large tires with sawzall fender clearancing.

Found a yugo for sale while looking for pintos. I am liking the looks of the 80's pintos and a 78 pinto wagon. A 1.0 should weigh what? 300 lbs less than the 2.3 or v6.
A Zetec will bolt to some of the earlier bellhousing attached to the 2.3 Lima. There is still some fiddly bits to work out but the Lotus 7/Locost folks have been using the Zetec in rwd form for years.
When I weighed my Zetec ('00 Focus) with auto flywheel, exhaust, and intake manifolds, it was about 260 lbs, IIRC. There was some fluids in it but not sure if it was full or not.
Wondering about the dimensions of the 1.0 ecoboost engine and transmission and how well it would fit into my Mini.
In reply to Gearheadotaku:
The 1.0 is a 200 HP engine with a tune and the turbo from the 1.6, ford showed this with that formula ford car they took around the nurburgring in 7:22. I think the 1.0 will handle 250 HP easily.
I am going to look at pieces of a Cobra kit car later today...original plan is for a 2.3 turbo. Might push the thoughts of a Miata Healey Bugeye Sprite out of my brain for a while!!
