Doesn't that clip make you want to go out and do silly things? It looks so out of place drifting in front of a modern BMW.

Not totally miserable. I owned one of these at one time and got to take a real good look at it.
The suspension was based on the Vanguard just as the TR2/3 was, and the mods and brakes from those models would fit the Mayflower, as would the rear axle. We has serious intentions of making it a disc brake car with TR4 warmed over engine, which would have made it an interesting street runabout.
Later did a similar thing on a Riley 1.5 (went really well with a hotted up MGB engine but needed an MG Magnette axle to stop the axle shafts from snapping like celery).
